2 Months & Halloween

I can't believe this guy has already been with us for two months! I have no idea where time goes! I have definitely been trying to enjoy every moment tho. I snuggle with this little guy as much as I can and I love it!

He has been such a blessing to our lives already and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm so thankful for our little miracle and I feel so blessed! He has already grown so much and has already developed a little personality. He loves to be held and he is the smiliest baby ever! I don't remember our other smiling this early but this guy just loves to interact and give you big ol' grins. Adorable! He just melts my heart :) He loves when his brother and sisters talk to him and he's even started cooing back at them, another thing he's picked up on fast! He's started sleeping thru the night which is HEAVEN!

On a sad note he has some deep down congestion/a little cold that just wont go away.

So our doc put him on a nebulizer. At least it's not too serious and his doc only wants him on it for a week to help clear everything up. It's already started working and we can tell the congestion is moving up. Just breaks my heart to hear such a little thing coughing so hard.

But all thru this he still is a happy smiley little guy.

A really fun thing is, our twins haven't always been that snuggly, Lys was always a snuggler but the twins just haven't been and it's sad because I always want to just hold them but they are so wiggly and on the go! But since having Roman and them seeing how much we snuggle him they just want to be snuggled and they'll just let me hold them while we watch Sponge bob. They are BEYOND obsessed with Spongebob, not sure how this happened but it is now the only show they want to watch. It's pretty funny because they'll bring me the remote and say "PongeBob! Pongebob! Peeeeeeeez". Pretty adorable. We may be corrupting our kids but it sure is cute haha.

This is how they like to spend their time. Snuggling together on their couch watching sponge bob!

HALLOWEEN!

So I forgot to post about Halloween. This year was fun.. yet exhausting haha.

The day started out getting to go to this little girls school :) I got to help as a room mom for their Halloween party. It was ADORABLE. She was so proud to have her mom there and was showing me off to all her friends. I tried soaking it up because I know it's not far when she'll be embarrassed to have her mom around her at school. She got to dress up and they had a Halloween parade. This is her and her little friend Jenna, they are in the same class. I just loved seeing her interact with her friends and getting to watch her participate in class. I just love this girl.

After we went to the Mall, which is where we have started going  each year for trick or treating. Lys and the twins loaded up with candy.

After we went to Nanny's for her Annual Halloween get together. We dressed up as a little pirate/sea family. Me, Devin & Henry were pirates, Lys and Hazel were mermaids, and Roman was our little monkey.

 All the cousins

We went around the block trick or treating and the twins really got into it this year. They had to go up to the door just like the big kids and they'd put out their hands (because they didn't want to hold the bag) and would say "Treat Treat Peeez". And of course, they'd eat it right there lol.

I must say, I just love being a mom. It has it's moments but mostly it's moments are full of love and laughter :)

Roman's Birth Story

Roman is FINALLY HERE!

So it all started Monday September 9th.. I was 38 weeks pregnant and my doc had told me at my last appointment that I was cleared to start trying to get this little guy here. We had tried almost everything in the book! Jalapenos , off roading, long walks, I was still going to crossfit and doing EXTRA squats ontop of the 100 I did during the workouts.. I was progressing slowly but nothing that was sending me into labor.

Since I knew this was going to be my last baby [ unless another little miracle pops up ;) ] I REALLY wanted to experience labor all on my own without having to be induced. I was really hoping for my water to break on my own!

Well my sis in law text me on the 9th and told me to try and eat a whole fresh pineapple. She'd heard it sends you into labor. I told Devin he should get me one but he kinda laughed at it. I finally looked it up online and all the reviews were positive.. pineapple sent the majority of them into labor. So Devin ran to the store and made me eat the ENTIRE pineapple.. it was a big one too!

That night we went to get some icecream with my SIL and niece at Coldstone and one the way home contractions started kicking in. So we went for a little drive. They went from 15 min apart to 2 min apart by the time we got home and I was in tears by then.

So we headed to the hospital! That was 9:30 pm by then. The nurses got me all hooked up and checked me and I was progressing, but slowly. Then the contractions just stopped for a whole hour.. nothing... I was so bummed. One cute little nurse could tell I was in misery and just so ready to have our baby. She told me there was a doc in the house and she could see if he'd be willing to break my water, but that would mean no backing out! I quickly said yes! Even tho I was bummed because I really was hoping my water would break all on my own, but I was so ready and sick of being miserable.

The doctor said he felt good about breaking my water and so he did. He broke my water at 11:30 pm and not soon after my contractions kicked into gear. They got harder and harder. I was still torn on weather I was going to go natural or get the epidural. They checked me again and I had moved from a 4 cm - 6 cm within the hour. At 1:00 am the contractions were so intense and I was having the hardest time holding it together. I was squeezing poor Devin's hand off and it caused my blood pressure to raise a little bit so I had to go on the air to help me calm down. I finally decided I was gonna give in and get the epidural. At 1:30 I got my epidural, they say it sends a shock down your body when it's inserted ( it did with my others) but with this time it send a HUGE jolt! I literally almost jumped off the table! It ended up making my left leg and left arm completely numb but that was it. I still felt every single contraction! They told me that I was progressing faster than the epidural could keep up with, so pretty much, the epidural wasn't going to really do it's job of numbing the contractions out...so back to breathing exercises and squeezing the crap out of Devins hand. All the sudden I got a huge urge to push, so I told the nurses and they checked me. Within a half hour I went from a 6cm - 10 cm and Roman was on his way. The nurses kinda freaked because they hadn't even called my doctor yet. They weren't expecting me to go that fast.

They hurried and called her and told me she'd be here within 10 min and if I could hold the urge to push it would be better to have my doctor here to deliver me so I wouldn't tear or anything. I kinda chuckled... hold the urge to push this baby out for 10 min!! Ya, it was the longest 10 min of my life! But, I held every urge in, I ended up pushing down on Devin's hand and smashing it into the bed instead, it helped... My doc literally got there just in time, 3 pushes and he was here. It was amazing and intense all at the same time. I am so glad it was only 3 pushes because by the 2nd I literally thought I was going to pass out from the pain for 1 and for 2 I was so completely exhausted from the entire labor that I don't think I could have gone much longer on my own.

For the first time, out of all my kids, I got to hold him and keep him after delivery! All my others were whisked away to NICU.. It was so nice getting to just have him. I instantly fell in love. I knew i'd love him, but since this pregnancy was unexpected and just felt so odd the whole time I didn't feel as attached as I did my other pregnancies and it really made me sad. But as soon as I held him.. that wave of love just crashed over me. I seriously could not put him down.. I don't think I really did haha. Devin and I are always fighting over who gets to hold him or feed him :) We are just trying to soak in the moments because I think we realize now just how fast they grow up! I mean my "babies" are now 5 and 18m... where does the freakin time go!!

I only had to be in the hospital for 2 days which was also a new thing.. with my others being in NICU the least amount of days we were at the hospital was 5 days.

Lys was so excited to meet Roman and she just can't get enough of him!

Henry REALLY struggled. When he came to visit me in the hospital he was so mad, he wanted to be near me but didn't want me to touch him, he also wanted NOTHING to do with Roman. If one of us was holding him he'd run and cling to the other one. When we got home he got so clingy and whiny. He was just really upset! Now....

He just loves his brother! He is always kissing him and wanting to help feed him. It's really cute!

Hazel didn't really have a problem adjusting. She instantly went into big sis mode and has been constantly checking on him for us. She also loves to follow her big sis and so she wants to try and hold him and burp him and feed him too. She can say "Rowan" pretty well too.

She's very fascinated by him and loves giving him kisses too :)

We are just so inlove with this little man! The transition from 3-4 kids really hasn't been that bad either. He is way easy. Sleeps and eats every 4 hours. I feel like I have more energy now then when I was pregnant! I actually get to sleep a whole 3-4 hours rather than toss and turn every 15 min. Plus I don't hurt when I do stuff now!

Can't wait for all the new adventures of being a family of 6 now!

Kindergartener

This girl started Kindergarten August 22! I can't even believe I have a kindergartener!

I'm also really proud of this girl. This is a total Mommy Brag Moment for me :) But at kindergarten assessments, where they test the kids to see where they are at and how to place them in classes, she scored 3rd highest out of ALL the kindergarteners. I was so proud! We wanted to tell her but we didn't want it to go to her head ;) haha.. I just told her she did really good because for some reason she thought she missed alot and got alot of zeros.. which i'm wondering if in this case zeros might have been good haha..

She has been SO excited all year and when it was finally the day to go she just went into the class like she owned it. She just loves school and was really sad that she didn't have school Friday or Monday for the Labor Day holiday.

She's already made a couple friends, Favor & Julie. She says she plays with them at recess. Her favorite game to play at recess is "Sharks". She gets so excited to come home and tell us all about her day.

I don't know if I really wish I was sad that she is so grown up and loving school but I was just as excited for her to start school as she was. I think it's mostly because I know how eager of a learner she is. Everyday she was wanting us to help her and teach her something new so I just knew that she would love school so much so I think that's why I was excited.. mostly for her and her new adventures.

I was always such a shy timid kid and never involved myself very much so to see her just blossom and make friends so easily makes me smile :)

She made an awesome achievement for herself this school week tho! She has been telling us since school started that if your good you get a gold star but if your REALLY good your name sticker goes on your teachers shirt and you get to take it home after. Well she has been trying ALL week to get her name on her teachers shirt and on Thursday she jumped out of Grandma D's car and ran and showed us her sticker on her shirt saying that she was EXTRA good.. so she had gotten her name on her teachers shirt just like she wanted too. I was really proud of her :)

My baby is all grown up!

That one summer where we did alot

So I have been MIA, if you haven't noticed. It's sadly almost been 2 months since I have posted anything! AND ALOT has happened this summer. I have just been exhausted from this pregnancy and chasing the kids that blogging was the last thing on my mind. It was on my mind.. but the further I put it off, the more activities that came up and the further I got behind which made me put it off that much more lol.

So I am just going to do a quick recap on everything just so I can say that I posted about it and make myself feel better :)

So lets start with the 4th of July week....

My dad came up to visit for the week. It was fun getting to have him and he loved getting to see all the grandkids.

We started it out by going to Bear Lake...

Later that week we went to the zoo...

It was the twins first time at the zoo and they loved it :)

Then there was the cruise in which my dad loved. He used to live in Cache Valley WAY BACK WHEN he was in college so it'd been awhile since he'd seen it (He lives in Boise ID)

And here's all his kids, spouses, and grandkids :) It was fun having getting everyone together at once. This RARELY happens with me and my bros.

July 20-22 we went to..

YELLOWSTONE
(Picture overload)

The children got VERY dirty

Buffalo just walking along the side of the road

They really loved the hiking backpacks the got carried around in

Ended the trip with with suckers from the candy store in Jackson :)

We didn't see any bears this year but we saw lots of Elk, buffalo, we saw a coyote that I SWEAR was a wolf... it was from a distance but it just looked HUGE... and then we saw a cute little fox.

I just love Yellowstone/Jackson!

Happy Birthday To Me!
August 11

I had an awesome birthday. It was kinda a 3 day birthday bash..
On Friday my MIL took me and Lys to get mani's and pedi's :) Now i'll have cute toes for when baby Roman gets here :)

I also got my silhouette.. FINALLY!

That night we snuggled on the couch and played Mario Kart, me & Lys's fav game :)

Saturday night my aunt treated us to an RSL game and watched the kids for us. I love getting to be with my man and as much as I missed having my kids with us it was nice getting to watch the game without interruption ;)

Sunday, for my actual birthday, my husband had gotten me a birthday cake because no birthday is complete without a birthday cake!

My brother and sis-in-law gave me that beautiful necklace for my b-day. It has all my kids names on it. BTW we have went with Roman Alexander for our new little one :)

That night my mother in law thru me an ice cream birthday party and we just gotta chill outside and enjoy what's left of summer.

It was an awesome Birthday!

LYS TURNS 5!

Even tho Lys knew she was having a birthday party she told us she really wanted to be surprised on her birthday. She had been looking forward to it all week and started the countdown after my birthday. It was pretty cute. We got some balloons rigged up on her door so she would be surprised in the morning with a shower of balloons :) I dreamt all night about missing getting it on video and woke up before she did that morning, was at the door with my phone and just as I was getting it on video mode.. she opened the door.. and I missed it :( go figure lol.. it was still cute tho.

Lys is always stealing my phone and watching movies and playing games on it. We finally decided it was time for her to have her own, so we got her an ipod. She hasn't put that thing down since :) It's nice when you get them presents they actually enjoy and play with. She told me she loves her new "phone" (she calls it her phone since it looks like my iphone) as much as she loves me lol... i'm just glad she loves it.

That night we had Lys's bday party.
Lys decided she wanted to have a Blue's Clues Birthday party.

Once all the cousins got their they each got their own "Handy Dandy Notebook" and had to find 3 of Blue's Clues to find out that Blue wanted Lys to blow out the candles on her cake.

Lys got really spoiled with all her presents and had such a fun birthday party!

The kids all gotta play games and win little prizes.

She had such a special birthday surrounded by all her family. It was a really good day for her and when I asked her if she'll always remember it she told me: " Well I took pictures of everything and all the people!" duh to me right lol.. glad she loved it :)

Whew... what a post.. lets hope I don't get that behind again!

This is my digital Scrapbook. And.. yeah.. i designed the papers and stuff myself :) sweet huh?

Elysa's Favorite Video! She asks for it by pointing at the computer and yelling "Apples!Apples"
