Finally! A Project Done!

I was in need of a new desk for my work space and found this beauty at a yard sale for $10!

It sat in the corner for over a month and I really didn't know which color I wanted to paint it. Then I saw a beautiful green desk makeover on pinterest:

and decided that was it! our kitchen/dining room/office is white, green, & black so it was decided... green...

[ not sure if I saw this on pinterest or not or if I just made it up but I thought I would show it off because it made painting knobs SOOO easy! You just use poster board, poke the screws thru and put the knobs on so they stand up.. then spray paint! ]

VOILA!
Green desk! It looks ALOT brighter here than it does in real life, the color is Antique Green.. I think it's just the sunlight from the sliding glass doors making it looks so neon.. but it looks REALLY good.. and I am happy with it :)

[ this is the color swatch it is.. huge difference from the picture right LOL ]

Here is another project I did.. I bought that cute little clay pot at a yard sale (should have got a better picture of it close up ). I got an Aloe Vera plant to go in it and then made a hanging basket out of strings using this tutorial here [ my picture is off my phone and is horrible at that.. so here is the picture from the tutorial of how it looks ]

A little update on life

Lys LOVES her little sister. She sat like this with her watching Enchanted [ her new favorite movie, we LITERALLY watched it 5 times in one day.. no joke!]

We went to the Willow Park Zoo on Sunday for Uncle Brittons b-day.

So I am INLOVE with watching Extreme Makeover: WeightLoss Edition every Sunday. It is a GREAT motivator and shows.. if these overly obese people can lose the weight and stay strong.. so can I! It's so inspirational!

Anyways, I am also in love with Chris Powel!

Ya how could you not be in love with this guy ;)

Anyways, he is so awesome and I love how much he cares about the people he helps.

I am still SUPER motivated to lose weight.

How's it going so far you ask?
AWESOME!

I have lost 7 lbs so far and 3 inches all around [ inch off my waist, hips, and thighs ]

I go to crossfit 4 days a week, play soccer 3 days a week, and we have been going jogging/walking as a family each night.

Eating healthy is AWESOME! I really enjoy what we eat and I love how we feel. When I eat crap [ I need to do better on the weekends, i'll admit on Saturday I decided to get a croissant which from BK because me and my sis-in-law were out at yardsales and it was convenient and I told myself " i'm going to soccer anyways so I'll work it off".. well WOW.. I felt HORRIBLE.. eating those kind of nasty carbs made me feel sick.. I couldn't even finish the sandwhich and I only drank half of the medium coke too.. I was glad too that I felt like crap.. made me realize just how good eating healthy was and felt :)

Here's a new recipe we did from Chris Powells website.. it's very healthy and man was it delicious!

[ When I reach my first 10lb loss goal i'll finally post before and after pictures.. I wont be as self conscious i'm hoping ]

2 months!

I'm a little behind because next week my babies will be 3 months old! I cannot even believe it! Here is a picture update them at 2 months. They are growing so big, it makes me realize that before I know it they are going to be walking talking little kids!

I am also trying to do a growth/memory book for the twins as they grow. I will try and remember to post them each month. Here are the pages so far:

[ love this photo of Henry.. Hazel would not let me get pictures of her.. trying to get pics of twins is HARD ]

I also did a mini photoshoot of the twins for their 2nd month and Lys, being my little photogenic girl,  REALLY wanted photos taken too. I wish I could find more time to do everything I want to do. I have so many photo ideas, craft ideas, & projects that I want to do but I just never seem to have time.. and when I do have a little bit of time I am unmotivated.. someday.. someday..

Anyways here are the cute pictures of my little girl.. I can't EVEN believe she will be 4 in august.. my baby is growing up to fast!

I just love this little face!

I mean really.. what guy can stay home and take care of 3 kids, 2 being babies, and stay sane. He sure does love them all too!

He truely is amazing to me and I love him so much!

Bear Lake

I just love Bear Lake. Especially when the water is warm enough
[ or the day is hot enough ] to wade out in the water.

I also forgot to post about the soccer tournament I got to play in. It was loads of fun and we had an awesome team. Even tho we only won 1 out of 3 games we sure had a good humored team and it was just all around fun.

Blessed/ 1st day of Summer School/ Paleo Lifestyle

Blessed

June 3, 2012 we blessed our sweet babies. Devin was really nervous especially knowing he was going to have to do it twice and he really wanted them both to be unique. Well.. he nailed it! He did such a sweet job, he had me and plenty others in tears. The thing I loved about the blessing he gave them is they were very heart felt and you could tell he gave alot of thought to what he wanted each of them to be blessed with, and meaning no offense, they weren't your traditional blessings for health, happiness, missions, temples ( not that those are things we don't want for our kids ). He wrote them down so I am going to get them framed to put in their rooms with their little blessing outfits and pictures.

As you can see, I am going to have to try and do a reshoot with them. It was horrible timing for pictures. There was just NO time. We woke up, got them bathed for church, got them dressed, went to church,  headed up to my mother-in-laws for the luncheon [ which was awesome! Arby's roast beef sandwhiches, yes please! ] and by the time we got there it was time for them to eat and boy were they starving! So I didn't want them in their outfits to eat and get all messy so we changed them out then everyone wanted to pass them around after.. so getting pictures did not work out so well.. now I HAVE to find time to reshoot them in their cute outfits before they grow out of them!

It was truely an amazing day, however. And you could really feel the spirit and I truely felt blessed. Everytime I think about this it brings me to tears a little, but I feel so lucky to have had 2 babies at once. I know we were meant to have them and they have touched all our hearts already and I just love to see how Lys reacts with them. She is such a sweet heart and loves her brother and sister so much!

1st Day of Summer School

Lys is lucky enough to have a grandma that's a school teacher. Dev's mom is teacher summer school this year and wanted to take Lys with. Lys is LOVING IT! She is such a little smarty pants and just LOVES to learn. She is constantly wanting us to teach her how to read, write, learn her ABCs & 123's. She's just a little sponge, it amazes me. She gets to go every Monday & Wednesday.

Paleo Lifestyle [Diet] & Crossfit

So, I may have said before that I have been suffering from a little depression and it's all about my weight. I had worked so hard to lose alot after Lys and thought I was doing great this last pregnancy just to get left with a butt load of weight to lose, back to square 1 pretty much. Now I wouldn't trade ANY of my kids and I know that it's part of having babies but that doesn't mean I feel any better about myself.

Good thing about this? It's kicking my butt into gear and making me want to change my lifestyle and eating habits. Me & Devin have been trying a chain of diets, some have worked a little, some have left us STARVING but the Paleo has been easy to adjust too.

What is paleo you ask? It's also known as the caveman diet/lifestyle. You eat anything you can hunt or gather. Basically NO legumes, whole wheat, grains, & dairy. If you want to learn more you can go here & to see what foods you can & can't enjoy you can go here.

Since doing it we have felt really great and it's actually not all that hard! Here's kind of a breakdown of what we eat everyday [ They have some amazing recipes for paleo food out there ]

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs
Lunch : Salad with some meat [ talapia, chicken, steak, or pork]
Dinner : Salad or veggies with some meat [ talapia, chicken, steak, or pork]

We have been gowing REALLY basic just because it's easier to shop for, we aren't very good at stocking up on foods, but we'll get better at it.

Like I said there are some AMAZING yummy recipes out there, this site has some really good ones! Nom Nom Paleo

Anyways, so far I have lost 2 lbs on it! I have been doing LOADS of research on it and with Paleo & crossfit people have lost some amazing pounds AND have put some muscle on and look great! One girl lost 23 pounds & 22 inches in 2.5 months! I am into week 2 of this ( but I was cheating here and there and I still lost 2 lbs ). So now I am motivated and I am going to get serious on this. After all my research it has made me realize how important it is to eat healthy and how much better you feel too! I plan on making Paleo my lifestyle. I want to reach my goal weight and once I do then I wont feel bad about cheating here and there but I still really like this Paleo way of life. It's easy, yummy, and I don't feel hungry on it. I feel content! It's nice!

I have started the Paleo Challenge at Crossfit, so i'll update you often on where I am at and hopefully by the end of week 8 I will look amazing! I also plan on posting some before, during, & after pictures here soon [ I just need to get up the courage to post my before ;) ]

Tiny Dancer & Time for Vaca!

Little Dancer
May 19 2012

Elysa started dance this January and fell in love with it. To brag her teacher told us that Lys catches on really quick to the dance routines so that made us proud parents :)

She had her end of the year dance recital May 19 and did a fabulous job. It was so fun watching her perform and I was really proud that she didn't get shy or nervous. She just went up there and performed her little heart out. We have all decided performing is her thing and we are going to keep her with it for as long as she wants to do it.

Time For Vaca! Riggins Id!
May 25-28 2012

Day 1
We left early Friday morning to hit the road for our 8 hour drive, yes 8 hour drive and that is with two 2 month olds, one 6 month old & one 3 1/2 year old. Are we crazy or what?
WELL? They all did awesome, I was soooo proud. The twins slept the whole time, sisa watched movies, played "I spy" games with us & slept.

Matt [my bro] his wife, Becky, and their little one, Izzy, drove separate since we couldn't get a car big enough to hold all of us.

We picked up my dad in Boise along the way and headed to Riggins.
What's in Riggins you ask? My uncle owns a resort along the river and was awesome enough to invite us down for a free stay!
Where is Riggins? It's a little, little,little......... little town in Idaho, population 420.

We got there, had dinner and all hit the sack since we were exhausted!

Day 2
We got ready for the day and had planned on fishing. We were bummed that the weather was a little glum and rainy but we weren't going to let it ruin the day!

[ Waiting for the boys to decide where we were going to fish]

[fishing behind my uncles Resort. Devin was SOO excited that on his first cast he caught a fish AND caught a fish before anyone else]

[We headed out further up the river and once again Devin caught the first and only fish! The rest of us got discouraged and gave up haha.. that and the weather wasn't the best and the water was extremely high and COLD. That night, to warm up, we went to the Riggins hotsprings. I didn't get any pictures sadly :( ]

Day 3

[ We headed to Boise to split the trip up so it was 8 hours on the way home again. ]

[My Dad and all his grandkids :) ]

 [The whole darn family]

[Our stop in McCall Idaho on our way to Boise. It was a cute little town that reminded us alot of Jackson Hole. We stopped for some hot chocolate at a little coffee shop, strolled along the McCall Lake, and went into all the little shops. We hit one Thrift store and there was a cute little girl, probably about 1, in there that was the shop owners daughter and her name was Hazel! First time I have heard of another Hazel so far!

When we got to Boise we head straight to the Mall. The girls saw Build-a-Bear and we couldn't resist letting them get their very own, and first, bear. We thought Sisa's was a calico kitty so we had her pick out a "meow" voice box to put it.. AFTER it was stuffed we noticed her kitty was not a cat but a bear.. I felt bad. She named it (after many name changes we just combined them) Bell Beary the Bear Cat a.k.a Kathy ]

And that was our wonderful trip!

This is my digital Scrapbook. And.. yeah.. i designed the papers and stuff myself :) sweet huh?

Elysa's Favorite Video! She asks for it by pointing at the computer and yelling "Apples!Apples"
