A weekend in Challis

I
{ Pictures are courtesy of the beautiful landscape of Challis Idaho }
Visiting my grandparents in Challis.

It's only about a 4 hour drive, but it is so far the only 4 hour drive I actually look forward to driving. Everytime a Tom Petty song comes on I think of the drive to Challis.. weird I know.. but it's so scenic! I love nature and mountains, and the smell of non city outdoors.

There is always alot to do when we get to Challis. The first day we always hit the fishing hole. Our new tradition is to go to Deadman's Hole. I found out after my gramps Willmore passed away he used to go to this hole with his buddies way back in the day when he was a youngster. So it's kinda special to me :)
{A little side note.. my grams and gramps McGowan live in Challis and my grams and gramps Willmore live in Hryum Utah so my grandpa traveling to Challis was kind of a cool thing for us to hear }

Fishing comes naturallyto me. I grew up with a pole in my hand at all times.
My brothers and now my husband hate that I always seem to catch all the fish.
Literally I caught 2 fish in 2 casts before my husband got his pole together.. need I say he was frustrated haha.. He ended up with a fish of his own tho! We took home 5 good size Mountain Whitefish and yes! They tasted wonderful!

Need I say more!

My grandparents place really is beautiful. It's right ontop of a Cliff.. literally! The view is gorgeous. I love sitting out on their porch enjoying natures beauty.

Another fun place to go is Challis' amazing Hot Springs. You will never experience a Hot Spring as nice and beautiful as Challis'. It is all natural and they use soft round river rocks to line the pool. They drain it every night so that it stays clean and non slimy like some others are. The water is as warm as a comfy bathtub and beautifully clear. So nice for relaxing!

 Can you say breathtaking and inviting!

Can't wait till next year!

My Little Trooper takes it with a Smile

Yesterday was a TRAUMATIC day for our little girl.

Playing over at Great Grandmas she got nipped by a doggy. Did that scare her away from dogs? NO WAY! She still loves them!

We for sure don't blame poor Max. We understand that sometimes.. 3 year olds and dogs don't mix.. even the sweetest parent can lose their cool with a 3 year old.. did I say parent? I mean dog ;)

We ended up at the ER. She was more scared of the bed than the doctors for some odd reason. The worst part for her was having the doctor try to find a vein to stick her in.. her little hands are so teeny and the doc just had the hardest time finding one. I think that hurt her the worst if not me more having to watch her in pain :(

After she fell asleep they stitched her up and it was time for her to wake up. Once she was awake and she saw everyone in the room she got alot more cheerful.. especially when her aunt Becky gave her a "Little Mermaid" Barbie doll---- you know what we ended up watching OVER and OVER and OVER again that night!

But she is a trooper! Even tho she had an "Ouch" she loved all the attention and boy did she soak it up! She was telling us story after story! Those 5 stitches on her lip didn't slow her down one bit..

We were worried about her having problems eating so we were trying to decide what we could feed her. We asked her and she said "Chicken Nuggets at the kids meal store". How could we say "no" to her sad little face?? So to Burger King we went.. and she ate all her chicken nuggets without one word of complaint or problem! Wahoo!

Getting ready for bed she noticed she had "extra nickles?" -- that's what she calls her "nipples" *ahem*
Whoops looks like the doctor left those on?

We are proud of our little girl who doesn't let a single thing slow her down... not even 5 stitches in her cute little lip.

I love how she takes life with a Smile.. something I know I can learn to do a little better :)

Project{3} AND more!

First off we got to go to Lagoon yesterday AGAIN! We spent half the day at Lagoona beach which sisa LOVED! I didn't get any pictures but I got a few videos I need to upload of Sisa going on her now favorite ride Bombora and the Tilt-A-Whirl..

After the game we decided to go to an impromtu RSL game which was AWESOME! I just love going to the RSL games. It was way cute too because sisa told us "This is my favorite part!" We have trained her well. She cheered very loud also!

I said I was going to get 5 pictures a day.. haha.. well.. I think i'll just move to 1 picture a day.. so 5 for the week... Here are the 2 I got for the week :)

And now for the projects:

Project #{3}

I really liked how it turned out. I did a bright blue, i'm really liking the brights right now. I also redid the numbers to make it a little more playful.

I also completed project #{4}

I found this at the DI and came up with a pretty fun idea on how to use it.
I'm not entirely sure what it was in the first place but i liked the little design of it.

Here is the finished prod.

I used a watermelon pink spray paint and voila.. instant jewelry holder. My jewelry box just wasn't tall enough for my long necklaces but this works awesome! It also is a tray for my rings AND I can hang my earrings from it. LOVE IT! I just love DI treasures!

Project {#2}

Project #1 was actually unknowingly posted haha. It was the little 4th of July headbands in both of me and Elysa's hair in the last post. Sisa even helped me glue them together :)

So on to Project #2: Picture Frame Makeover

I found this frame, I actually found 2 identical frames, at the D.I. and loved the design and antique look of it.

I tried looking it up to see if it actually was an antique and couldn't find anything to help me identify it. I definitely could tell it was older but had no idea how old.. so what did I do? Paint it, haha.

I really love how it turned out! I had to make a make shift backing and ended up using some black fabric to cover the wood panel and glued an old frames stand on the back.

I am working on my shelving decorations. This is item number 1 ! Once I get all my creations completed and on there I'll get the whole shelve :)

Here is a sneak peak at Project #3:

Another D.I. beauty.. I am trying to decide on a color and I am re-designing the clock face!

Pictures Are Worth A Million Words.. and I've got alot of them..

Holy Moly! We have done ALOT this summer so far.. and we have more to come in July.. and August.. this summer is sadly going to be gone sooner than we think, it always does. I jam packed all my images together because I just had TOOOO many to post. So here's what we have been up to:

Sisa is our little water baby.. she laid in the water literally all day. And we had to drag her out kicking and screaming. Her poor little lip would not stop quivering from the cold but she just would not admit that she was freezing.

This was Sisa's first time at Lagoon and she LOVED it. I love how they have rides for both parents and kiddies. She was just bearly tall enough to ride the bigger rides too and the scarier the better for her. She loved LOVED them.  The 2 biggest rides she road, and I almost felt a little guilty for taking her on them at first and until she demanded "again, again" after, were Tidal Wave and the newest rollercoaster ride Bombora. I hadn't been to Lagoon for awhile either, 6 years to be exact. It was SO much fun, I forgot how much I loved Lagoon. I even rode Wicked which I had vowed I was never going to go on because I was too chicken but I'm glad Devin and Britton forced me on it because it ended up being my favorite! Can't wait for bounce back next Saturday!!

Sisa just loves the beach so much and has been asking to go back. We couldn't get the energy to do an all dayer at Bear Lake again so we decided Hyrum Dam was just as fun.. and it was. The water was really high but nice and warm. Again.. Sisa just sat on the dock with her feet in the water the whole time.

And of course 4th of July. Sisa loves all the fireworks but I must say.. she was alot more impressed last year. Maybe it's because we weren't as close to them? We'll get to enjoy some more tonight and we'll be a whole heck of alot more closer.. so we'll see if she likes them better.

Man.. 4th of July just snuck up on me.. well.. everything is.. I swear I feel like i'm just standing still and life is just passing me by. I'm not gonna lie. It's been making me a little depressed... So to deal with it.. I am going to make an effort to take at least 5 pictures a day.. that way I can remember everything that's flying by.. and I am going to try and blog every week.. to keep a journal of everything thats been going on so that I am not blogging 10 events in one again haha..

I also love to craft and it helps me feel...... I don't really know what, but it makes me feel happy and I guess like I am doing something other than wasting away on the couch haha. also I like being creative and seeing my house full of my creativity.. so I am going to try this week to create a project a day.. I already have a few I am working on that I will need to blog about.. I'll need to get some pictures....

Ta Ta for now...

This is my digital Scrapbook. And.. yeah.. i designed the papers and stuff myself :) sweet huh?

Elysa's Favorite Video! She asks for it by pointing at the computer and yelling "Apples!Apples"
